Who provides the cleaning products?

Maid In The Shade provides all of the cleaning supplies to be used unless you prefer that we use your own supply. We use a range of effective general household cleaners. Please note that we do not provide any specialty cleaners that you may require such as wax.


What should we do to prepare before the housecleaners arrive?

It will take our staff longer to complete your housecleaning if your home is not tidy or if we have to wash dishes or complete other tasks. If we need to do tasks like dishes or general straightening up, it may be necessary to increase the cost of your cleaning.


Do we have to be home when the cleaners come?

No, you do not have to be home when the Maid In The Shade staff arrives. We'll arrange a way to get your key before we arrive or we will gladly come and pick it up to keep it in our safe.


What about our pets? Can we trust you to keep them safe?

Yes, the Maid In The Shade staff is pet friendly and always responsible. We will care for your pets as if they were our own. Please leave instructions indicating if the pet is allowed outside or should remain indoors.


Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, Maid In The Shade is completely bonded and insured for your peace of mind. Our staff is also covered under WCB.


What happens if we are not satisfied with the cleaning?

Maid In The Shade places your complete satisfaction as our top priority and we’re proud to maintain a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not happy with our work, we will return the next day to re-clean whatever displeases you. However, if we're under a time restriction, we will not be able to guarantee the quality or quantity of work completed in your home.


Which methods of payment do you accept?

Maid In The Shade is happy to accept cash, cheques and gift certificates. Please make all cheques to Maid In The Shade. Payment is due upon receipt of cleaning services, and the staff will look for it on your kitchen counter or table.


What is your minimum charge?

Maid In The Shade has a minimum charge of 1 hour for 2 cleaning ladies.


Do I have to sign a contract?

No, you will never have to sign a contract to receive service from Maid In The Shade.


Is there a cancellation fee if we need to reschedule the cleaning date?

There will be no cancellation fee as long as we have received notification by phone or email within 24 hours of your scheduled cleaning.
